Seeking a tax associate to join our growing and dynamic tax practice. Depending on experience, this tax associate may be based in our Boston, Hartford, or Providence office. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience, however, strong candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply. We are looking for a broad-based transactional experience, with strong writing skills and superior academic credentials (LL.M. preferred). The candidate will be able to provide sophisticated tax analysis, and to counsel clients in practical terms, regarding taxation and general business transactions. Areas of concentration include federal income taxation of business transactions (taxable mergers and acquisitions, and tax-free reorganizations); corporations; partnerships; and international tax planning. Application Support Engineer

Boston, MA

Hinckley Allen is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join our team in the Boston office.  The Application Support Engineer will be the primary support resource for the Firm’s electronic discovery team and core infrastructure. This candidate will also provide secondary support to the Network Operations team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for maintaining, upgrading and supporting the Firm’s on-premise Relativity e-discovery platform and infrastructure
  • Responsible for supporting all e-discovery related applications (LAW, Concordance, Summation)
  • Provide technical support to litigation support team as needed
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Provide support to the Network Operations team as needed
  • This position will require oncall coverage and may require working outside normal business hours

  Desired experience:

  • Solid background in Windows Server administration
  • Experience with VMWare 5.5 and above
  • Experience with SQL Server administration
  • Experience in Relativity, Concordance and Summation preferred
  • Extensive experience in server hardware, storage, network infrastructure and datacenter operations
  • Experience in server infrastructure design, configuration and deployment
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team

Technical Support Analyst/Trainer

Hinckley Allen is seeking a Technical Support Analyst/Trainer to join our team in the Boston office. The Technical Support Analyst/Trainer will coordinate with our current team of analysts to receive and respond to calls, email and verbal requests for assistance related to computers, phones and other technology. This position will provide support to all of our office locations supporting attorneys, managers, and staff with any technology assistance necessary.  This position will also provide support with technology training and building curriculum, as well as assistance with software rollouts, and administration of the Firm’s learning management system.

Education and experience: 

  • High School Diploma.  College Degree preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working in the technology field
  • Strong computer skills including substantial knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010/2016
