Responding to Changes in the Senior Living Marketplace: Is Your Board Stuck in the Status Quo or Advancing the Organization?

Date:
Time:

Partner Mark S. McCue will be presenting at LeadingAge’s 2018 Annual Conference & Exhibition in April. Mark will provide practical guidance to help organizations navigate the significant changes in the industry.

Nonprofit senior living communities face significant changes in the marketplace. Boards often believe that their role is to maintain the status quo, but their fiduciary duties may dictate a change in the strategic plan and operations of the organization. Successful organizations will weigh the advantages and disadvantages of changes in services, location, corporate structure and alliances. This session will outline the fiduciary duties of nonprofit operators and then apply them to various strategies. It also will highlight the primary legal considerations and challenges when considering an expansion of services or locations, or seeking to affiliate with a strategic partner.
