Hinckley Allen Partner Michael J. Connolly Named “Lawyer of the Year” in White Collar Criminal Defense by Best Lawyers


Michael Connolly has been named Lawyer of the Year in White Collar Criminal Defense (Concord, NH) by Best Lawyers® 2015.

Michael, a partner in the Firm’s Litigation Group, is a former federal prosecutor who specializes in high-stakes business litigation and white collar criminal defense, with emphasis on SEC and other governmental investigations, and guidance to corporations in conducting internal investigations and implementing compliance programs. He has served as lead trial counsel in dozens of cases in Federal and State courts throughout New England, as well as in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Tennessee and Florida.

As an Assistant United States Attorney, Michael received the 1996 John Marshall Award, the U.S. Department of Justice’s highest award for trial work. He received this honor for his successful work in prosecuting what then-FBI Director Louis J. Freeh hailed as “the largest commercial bribery case in the history of the Department of Justice,” involving 22 former executives with American Honda Motor Company and some of the country’s largest automobile dealers.

Michael represents corporations and individuals in public corruption, securities fraud, healthcare fraud, bank fraud, defense contractor fraud, tax fraud, money laundering, and cyber crimes, as well as a wide range of commercial disputes and product liability defense. Michael also handles civil and criminal antitrust cases involving the Sherman Act, the Clayton Act and the Robinson Patman Act.
