Hinckley Allen Partners with The Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity


Hinckley Allen is proud to partner with The Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity (LCD) in organizing the inaugural College Summer Internship Pipeline Program.

The mission of the LCD is to unite the resources, energy and commitment of Connecticut’s leading law firms, corporations, public sector entities, law schools, and state bar associations in the joint mission of making Connecticut a more attractive place for diverse attorneys. The College Summer Internship Pipeline Program extends this mission to college students of color who are interested in attending law school by connecting them to summer internship opportunities with LCD member organizations.

This year’s program is a paid internship serving nine students over a ten- week period. Through the guidance of their mentor, the students will benefit from work opportunities, and external events including a mock trial, tours of local law schools, practical skills such as resume writing, law school applications and LSAT preparation, as well as visits to: The Dr. Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, The Attorney General’s Office, The Chief Medical Examiner, Boehringer Ingelheim and Connecticut Superior Court.

Participating employers include Hinckley Allen, Locke Lord, Shipman & Goodwin LLP, Murtha Cullina LLP, Eversource, Saxe Doerenberger & Vita, P.C., McCarter & English, Chief State’s Attorney’s Office/Division of Criminal Justice, Pullman Comley LLC, Yale/New Haven Health, Updike Kelly & Spellacy PC, and Neubert Pepe & Monteith PC.
