Hinckley Allen is seeking an experienced, Florida certified, trial paralegal with practical experience to join our team of attorneys representing construction clients in all facets of their businesses.  The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience working in all phases of complex litigation – from case inception through resolution, and must have experience attending, and assisting with, trials. Experience with litigation support tools/applications such as Relativity, CaseMap, LiveNote, and Trial Director is preferred.   Degree or paralegal certificate is required.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating assembly of exhibits and appendices for court papers, witness sets, depositions, arbitrations and trials;
  • Setting up and managing war rooms for trials and/or arbitrations;

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews various local, state and federal tax returns prepared by the Firm’s accountants, including partnership returns and K-1s.
  • Reviews tax implication calculations and develops strategies for minimizing liability.
  • Stays current on federal, state, and local tax legislation to ensure compliance.

The Billing Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties according to established policies and procedures, which include printing, distributing, editing, and finalizing client bills. The Billing Coordinator will also maintain contact with attorneys, staff and clients and observe confidentiality of all client and firm matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Originates computerized pre-bills on monthly basis for review by each timekeeper in the firm.
  • Make necessary corrections on pre-bills, generates and distributes final bills to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on land use and zoning issues, ensuring compliance with New Hampshire state and local regulations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including zoning applications, development agreements, and land use permits in accordance with New Hampshire law.
  • Represent clients in hearings and proceedings before zoning boards, planning commissions, and other governmental agencies within New Hampshire.
  • Conduct research on land use laws, zoning regulations, and case law pertinent to New Hampshire to provide informed legal opinions.
  • Collaborate with clients, urban planners, and other stakeholders to facilitate development projects and resolve zoning disputes.
  • Negotiate terms of land use agreements and easements with opposing parties.
  • Stay updated on changes in New Hampshire land use and zoning laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and present legal arguments and strategies in administrative and court proceedings.
  • Assist in community outreach and public meetings related to land use projects.

Hartford, CT

Hinckley Allen is seeking a mid-level real estate transactional attorney to join a dynamic and sophisticated practice in our Hartford office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience handling commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, development, and office, retail and/or industrial leasing.  Financing experience is a plus.  Candidates should also have experience handling closings, title, survey, and other real estate due diligence projects, as well as drafting and negotiating real estate transaction documents. Admission to the Connecticut bar is required.
