Social Justice Initiative – Virtual Lunch & Learn

Date:
Time: to

Hinckley Allen’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee is hosting a conversation with Donald E. Williams Jr., Executive Director of the Connecticut Education Association, and an accomplished policymaker and education advocate with a distinguished career in public service, law, and journalism.

For eight years, Donald researched Prudence Crandall, a schoolteacher who bravely defied prevailing patterns of racial discrimination in the nineteenth century, and authored the book Prudence Crandall’s Legacy: The Fight for Equality in the 1830s. We are excited to have Donald join us for the fourth Lunch & Learn series as he discusses Connecticut’s state heroine, and her role in the antislavery and American civil rights movements.
