Hinckley Allen Partner David A. Wollin Named “Lawyer of the Year” in Bet-the-Company Litigation by Best Lawyers


David Wollin has been named Lawyer of the Year in Bet-the-Company Litigation (Providence, RI), by Best Lawyers® 2015.

David is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer who regularly handles complex and novel commercial and tort cases for publicly traded companies and private clients. For over two decades, he has secured favorable results in contract, personal injury and securities cases through dismissal, summary judgment and trial. Recently, as lead trial counsel, he obtained a multi-million dollar judgment for a Boston hospital in a dispute with its former parent, establishing gross negligence, breach of fiduciary duty and intentional misrepresentations.

David is Chairman of the Rhode Island Board of Bar Examiners and serves on the Federal Court Bench/Bar Committee. Co-author of a leading treatise on Rhode Island civil and appellate procedure, David received his law degree from Duke University School of Law, where he was Moot Court Champion and Senior Editor of Law and Contemporary Problems. After law school, he served as a law clerk to Judge Danny J. Boggs of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and Judge James F. Couch, Jr. of the Court of Appeals of Maryland.
