Mitchell R. Edwards to Receive LRI Volunteer Award at 2026 Inspiring Leaders Awards Luncheon

Hinckley Allen is proud to announce that Mitchell R. Edwards, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Group and Chair of its Pro Bono Committee, will be recognized as the recipient of the Leadership Rhode Island Volunteer Award at the 2026 Inspiring Leaders Awards Luncheon. Mitch is a member of the Leadership Rhode Island 2011 class (ETA II).

With more than eight years of service on Leadership Rhode Island’s Board of Governors, including as Governance Committee Chair and Secretary, Mitch has brought thoughtful, principled, and steady leadership to the organization. Known for rolling up his sleeves, asking insightful questions, and supporting those around him, his dedication has strengthened both Leadership Rhode Island and the broader Rhode Island community.

At Hinckley Allen, Mitch focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, representing businesses and individuals in high-stakes disputes across a range of industries. In addition to his active litigation practice, he serves as Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee, where he champions access to justice initiatives and encourages attorneys across the firm’s offices to dedicate time and talent to those in need. Under his leadership, Hinckley Allen has continued to expand its pro bono efforts, partnering with legal services organizations and community groups to provide meaningful support to underserved individuals and nonprofit organizations.

Mitch’s professional and community leadership reflect a deep commitment to service both within the legal profession and throughout Rhode Island. His longstanding involvement with Leadership Rhode Island exemplifies that dedication, demonstrating how sustained volunteerism can strengthen civic institutions and inspire future leaders.

“Giving back has always felt like part of the job to me. Some of the most rewarding work I’ve done has been around a table with people who care deeply about Rhode Island and want to see it thrive. When leaders from different backgrounds come together, listen to one another, and share their time and perspective, you can make a real and lasting difference for the community,” said Mitch.

The 2026 Inspiring Leaders Awards Luncheon brings together leaders from the business, nonprofit, and public sectors to recognize individuals whose service and leadership are making a meaningful impact in their communities. Grounded in Leadership Rhode Island’s 2026 theme, “Hope: Our Response-Ability,” this year’s event offers an opportunity to reflect, connect, and celebrate leadership in action.

Hinckley Allen is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Luncheon, and congratulates Mitch on this well-deserved recognition and thanks him for exemplifying what leadership through service truly looks like.
