Liz O’Brien leads the firm’s Conflicts Department, advising attorneys and firm leadership on a wide range of professional responsibility matters. She oversees the intake and review of new business, lateral hires, and conflicts issues relating to firm acquisitions. She ensures compliance with applicable rules of professional conduct and firmwide conflicts policies and procedures, including the preparation of conflict waivers, engagement terms, and screening structures. Liz also collaborates closely with the firm’s General Counsel on high-risk matters and outside counsel guidelines, manages and mentors the firm’s Conflicts Department team, facilitates internal training on ethics and onboarding procedures, and partners with IT and Finance to strengthen data integrity and streamline conflicts-related operations.
