Massachusetts is expected to receive $8 billion for construction. The implementation and performance of Stimulus projects will be closely monitored. As a result, the Stimulus Oversight and Prevention (STOP) of Fraud Task Force was created.
Massachusetts agencies which will participate in the task force are the Attorney General’s office, Office of the State Auditor, and Office of the State Inspector General. There are also 11 federal agencies which will be participating.
There will be particular emphasis on watching for false claims, breach of contract, bid irregularities, and wage and hour obligations which would include compliance with the OSHA 10 Program and the Independent Contractor Law.
