Date:
Time: to

B. Stephanie Siegmann, Partner and Chair of the International Trade & Global Security group joins an esteemed panel to discuss the enhanced review process of foreign investments and acquisitions in the United States, national security agreements and mitigation measures, enforcement actions and penalties for violations, and the possibility of outbound investment reviews in the future. From the BBA:

National security concerns have increased the role of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) in conducting foreign investment reviews. In September 2022, President Biden issued an Executive Order, the first since CFIUS was established in 1975, clarifying which U.S. industries and businesses should expect heightened scrutiny from CFIUS and the evolving national security risks that should be considered. On October 20, 2022, the U.S. Department of Treasury, the Chair of CFIUS, issued the first-ever CFIUS Enforcement and Penalty Guide.  Join this webinar to hear about the expanded Role of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States in reviewing cross-border investments and acquisitions.
