Hinckley Allen Promotes Conrad, Ferguson, Hershman and Lemke

Hinckley Allen rings in the New Year with the promotion of three new partners: Luke R. Conrad, Robert T. Ferguson, Jr. and Sarah T. Lemke and our new counsel, Chad L. Hershman. These attorneys assumed their new positions on January 1, 2017.

“Each of these attorneys have gained distinction in their practice areas by focusing on their client’s needs, providing real value and consistently delivering successful results,” said David J. Rubin, Managing Partner at Hinckley Allen. “It gives me great pride to elevate these individuals in recognition of their talent and strong performance.”

Luke R. Conrad is an attorney in the Construction & Public Contracts group. Luke advises clients regarding all aspects of the construction process. His prior experience as a general contractor has proved to be very valuable in handling mediation, arbitration and litigation of construction disputes in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York.  Luke is a graduate of University of Massachusetts at Amherst and the New England School of Law and he sits on the board of several construction industry organizations and frequently lectures regarding legal risk in the construction industry.

Robert T. Ferguson, Jr. practices in the Construction & Public Contracts group.  Bob handles a broad range of matters encompassing all phases of construction, including contract negotiation, bid protests, mechanic’s lien claims, real-time project advice, alternative dispute resolution and litigation.  Bob’s experience also includes insurance recovery, commercial/business disputes and property law cases.  Bob is a contributing writer and editor of West’s Massachusetts Practice Series volume on Construction Law and the USLaw Network, Inc.’s Massachusetts Construction Law Compendium.  He played a significant role authoring the amicus brief for AGC Massachusetts in the landmark Coghlin v. Gilbane case involving Construction Manager-at-Risk under Chapter 149A.  Bob graduated from the College of the Holy Cross and Villanova University School of Law.

Sarah T. Lemke is an attorney in the Real Estate group. Sarah’s practice is focused on general real estate matters, representing regional and national landowners, institutions and retailers in a wide variety of real estate transactions, with a particular focus on the acquisition, permitting, development and leasing of retail development projects. Sarah is a graduate of Middlebury College, where she remains active as an alumni interviewer, and Northeastern School of Law, where she continues to serve as a mentor to current law students interested in real estate law. Sarah is also a member of the Planning Board in the Town of Medfield, Massachusetts.

Chad L. Hershman is a Construction & Public Contracts attorney. Chad spent the early part of his career in the construction industry after he graduated from Tufts University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. This experience helps Chad understand the appreciation and resolution of engineering and design issues that can arise on construction projects, making him better able to counsel clients. Both as a contractor and an attorney, Chad has extensive experience with multiple types of construction delivery methods, a broad range of project types and the legal framework for construction contract development and dispute resolution. He regularly represents general contractors, construction managers, owners, developers, subcontractors and vendors with issues pertaining to local, state and federal public and private construction projects.

We thank each of these attorneys for their contributions and look forward to their continued growth and leadership in their new roles.
