Luke R. Conrad

PartnerHartford

Luke’s practice is focused on the zealous representation of clients in construction-related matters. Luke advises clients regarding all aspects of the construction process and has experience as a general contractor and as an attorney in the mediation, arbitration, and litigation of construction disputes.

Luke’s expertise covers a wide range of construction claims, including delay damages, acceleration, loss-of-productivity, design changes, differing site conditions, mechanic’s liens, payment bond claims, and material price adjustments. During and after the COVID-19 pandemic, Luke played a key role in helping clients navigate and assert claims related to pandemic-related delays and impacts.

Beyond litigation, Luke has extensive experience drafting and negotiating construction contracts across various project delivery methods. He works with clients in the transportation, infrastructure, building, defense, and energy industries to develop effective and risk-mitigating agreements. Additionally, he advises on emerging risks associated with bonding, surety, and insurance products, including general liability insurance, builder’s risk insurance, and subcontractor default insurance.

Luke is also a trusted industry leader, serving as a board member for multiple construction organizations and as a direct legal advisor to boards of directors for construction companies. His deep understanding of the industry allows him to provide clients with practical, results-driven legal guidance tailored to the complexities of the construction sector.
