Best Lawyers® Recognizes 5 Hinckley, Allen & Snyder Partners as “Lawyers of the Year” for 2013


September 13, 2012 – Hinckley, Allen & Snyder LLP is pleased to announce that Best Lawyers® has recognized partners Malcolm Farmer III, Robert G. Flanders, Jr., Gerard R. Goulet, William R. Grimm, and Michael L. Koenig as 2013 Best Lawyers in America “Lawyers of the Year.”

Malcolm Farmer III, a Partner in the Firm’s Corporate & Business Law Group, has been named Best Lawyers’ 2013 Providence Banking and Finance Law “Lawyer of the Year.” Farmer’s practice is focused in the area of financial transactions of all kinds, combined with a general corporate practice. His clients include in-state and out-of-state banks and other types of financial institutions as well as U.S. and foreign corporations of all sizes.

Robert G. Flanders, Jr., a Partner and Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Law Group, has been named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Providence Litigation – Real Estate “Lawyer of the Year.” As Chair of the Litigation Law Group, Flanders’ practice focuses on complex litigation, government investigations, and arbitration matters across a broad range of dispute areas for individuals, businesses, employers and governmental entities.

Gerard R. Goulet, a Partner and member of the firm’s Health Care practice, has been named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Providence Health Care Law “Lawyer of the Year.” Goulet provides strategic advice to hospitals, nursing facilities, other health care institutions, and individual health care practitioners, integrating traditional corporate advice to non-profit and business entities with the specialized regulatory and reimbursement counseling that is unique to the health care environment.

William R. Grimm, a Partner and member of the firm’s Litigation and Intellectual Property practices, has been named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Providence Litigation – Patent “Lawyer of the Year.” Grimm’s practice focuses on corporate and commercial litigation including the prosecution of suits in both federal and state courts in the areas of intellectual property; trademark, copyright and patent infringement; owner, shareholder and partnership disputes; securities; trade secret and non-competition anti-trust; and unfair competition.

Michael L. Koenig, a Partner and member of the Firm’s Litigation and White Collar Defense & Government Investigations practices, has been named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Albany Criminal Defense: White-Collar “Lawyer of the Year.” Koenig represents, defends and advises corporate and individual clients in all aspects of white collar criminal matters, government investigations, corporate internal investigations and complex civil litigation.

Joel Lewin, Chair of the Construction Law Group, has been named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Boston Litigation – Construction “Lawyer of the Year.” Lewin’s primary focus has been representing general contractors, owners, and subcontractors in complex litigation. Since 1990, Joel has been the firm’s team leader in representing the general contractors performing most of the construction of the “Big Dig” in Boston.
