Hinckley Allen’s Thomas Bhisitkul Named Go To Commercial Real Estate Lawyer by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly


Hinckley Allen is pleased to announce that Thomas Bhisitkul, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, was named a 2023 “Go To Commercial Real Estate Lawyer” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. The award acknowledges top legal professionals in the Massachusetts community for their expertise, history of success, and innovative client-centered solutions. Nominated by peers and selected by a panel from Lawyers Weekly, the honorees serve as trusted referrals for fellow attorneys.

Tom brings over 25 years of experience representing Fortune 500 companies, national and local banks, retailers, shopping center owners, and investors. His comprehensive practice spans the acquisition, development, operation, and leasing of commercial real estate nationwide. Tom excels in negotiating a wide range of lease agreements for various commercial properties, such as downtown office and retail spaces, suburban warehouse leases, shopping center in-line leases, and outparcel/freestanding ground leases.

Among his notable achievements, Tom successfully facilitated the acquisition of a manufacturing warehouse and distribution campus for a manufacturing client. Additionally, he played a crucial role in representing a national bank in acquiring and developing a multi-building corporate campus. This involved skillfully managing complex aspects, including off-site infrastructure improvements, inter-governmental development contracts, municipal tax incentive agreements, and reciprocal easement agreements, showcasing Tom’s expertise in navigating intricate real estate transactions.

Beyond his legal practice, Tom actively contributes to his profession and community. He plays an integral role with the Massachusetts Real Estate Bar Association as the Co-Chair of the Commercial Leasing Section. Previously, Tom served as the Association’s past president. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Abstract Club, a regular speaker and contributor to programs and publications of the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, and co-editor of MCLE’s manual Lease Drafting in Massachusetts. He currently holds positions on the Town of Southborough’s Housing Opportunity Partnership Committee (SHOPC) and the finance committee of St. Anne Church in Southborough, MA. He also served as a former member of the Southborough Zoning Board of Appeal.
