Litigation Partner Matthew M. Garrett Joins Hinckley Allen as Firm Expands to Chicago


Brings extensive experience in commercial, toxic tort, health care, and product liability matters

Hinckley Allen today announced that Matthew M. Garrett will join the Firm as a Partner in the Litigation group. Garrett, along with Counsel Christopher M. Dely and paralegal Megan A. Oakley, will continue to practice in Chicago, where Hinckley Allen will establish a more robust presence moving forward.

Garrett joins Hinckley Allen after most recently practicing at Faegre Baker Daniels. He is a veteran litigator who has represented clients in commercial, toxic tort, health care, and product liability matters, including defending manufacturers in personal injury and wrongful death cases.

Garrett brings nearly two decades of experience to Hinckley Allen, including:

  • Representing manufacturers and premise owners in asbestos-related litigation throughout the United States
  • Litigating breach of contract and business tort claims, including misappropriation of trade secrets, trademark infringement, unfair competition, securities fraud, health care fraud, and insurance recovery
  • Providing pro-bono services such as assisting veterans in obtaining benefits and representing non-profit community service organizations in action to recover embezzled assets
