Hinckley Allen is proud to announce that Tara Singh, partner in the firm’s White Collar & Government Enforcement Group, has been named among the Boston Business Journal’s 2026 40 Under 40 honorees, which recognizes the region’s most accomplished and impactful young leaders.
A white-collar criminal defense lawyer, Tara counsels individuals and businesses facing internal and government-initiated investigations, complex criminal litigation, and civil litigation, routinely defending clients in high-stakes scenarios that threaten reputations and careers.
“Tara is an exceptional lawyer and leader whose strategic thinking, sound judgment, and empathy set her apart,” said Michelle R. Peirce, partner and co-chair in the firm’s White Collar & Government Enforcement Group. “She brings a rare combination of legal acumen and genuine care for her clients, consistently delivering thoughtful and effective advocacy in the most challenging circumstances. This recognition from the Boston Business Journal is a well-deserved acknowledgment of the impact she is making on our clients, our firm, and the broader legal community.”
Tara also contributes to numerous professional organizations, including serving as Co-Chair for the Boston Bar Association’s Business and Commercial Litigation Section. She has also worked closely with the South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston (SABAGB) for several years, serving in various leadership roles before being elected Co-President in 2026. Tara also serves as faculty for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) and volunteers as a mock trial judge for high school and collegiate students.
“Being named to the BBJ’s 40 Under 40 list is an incredible honor and one that is especially meaningful to me personally. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, becoming a first-generation lawyer was never something I took for granted. As a Boston transplant, this city welcomed me, challenged me, and gave me opportunities that shaped both my career and my sense of community. I’m deeply grateful for the chance to give back to a city that has given me so much,” said Tara.
Understanding of the human impact associated with high-pressure cases, particularly white-collar, research misconduct allegations, and Title IX matters, Tara strives to minimize reputational harm while achieving the best possible outcomes. Her clients value her personal approach and dedication to guiding them through complex legal challenges with clarity and confidence.
The Boston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 program honors emerging leaders who are making a significant impact in their industries and communities, highlighting professionals who demonstrate excellence in their careers and a strong commitment to leadership and service.
In addition to this award, Tara’s accolades include recognition from Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, Excellence in the Law, Up & Coming Lawyers in 2026, ALM, New England Legal Awards as a Rising Star in 2025, and the Women’s Bar Association, Emerging Women Leaders in the Law Award and South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston’s Board Member of the Year in 2024.
This year’s honorees will be recognized on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the Big Night Live in Boston, MA.
