Jay LeBlanc is an associate in Hinckley Allen’s Litigation Practice Group. Jay’s practice focuses on high-stakes business litigation, complex commercial litigation, and government investigations and enforcement actions. Recognized as a Rising Star in Massachusetts by Super Lawyers® and as One to Watch by Best Lawyers®, Jay regularly represents corporate and individual clients in both civil and criminal matters, including executives, directors, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, financial services firms, and publicly traded companies.

Jay is a graduate of Villanova University and Boston College Law School, where he served as managing editor of the Boston College Law Review and received the Richard G. Huber Award for Scholarship & Leadership in Extra- and Co-Curricular Activities. Prior to joining Hinckley Allen, Jay clerked for Justice Scott L. Kafker of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and was a litigation associate at Ropes & Gray LLP.

Civil Litigation:

  • Represented a global technology company in various state and federal court litigations involving multi-million dollar claims for fraud, breach of contract, theft of trade secrets, and violations of state consumer protection laws.
  • Represented a manufacturer of agricultural products accused of trade secret misappropriation and violation of ch. 93A. Obtained complete dismissal of claims prior to trial.
  • Represented a syndicate of underwriters in securities fraud class action brought by shareholders in federal court. Obtained complete dismissal of claims prior to trial.
  • Represented a family trust against claims brought to terminate client’s rights under 20-year, multimillion-dollar commercial lease. Following a jury trial, obtained complete dismissal of all claims.
  • Represented a global private equity firm in expedited litigation in Delaware Court of Chancery involving multi-million dollar claims of fraud and breach of contract. The case settled favorably to the client prior to trial.
  • Represented a large apparel company in state court litigation involving of fraud, breach of contract, and related tort claims. The case settled favorably to the client prior to trial.
  • Represented a global pharmaceutical manufacturer in multidistrict mass tort litigation. The cases settled favorably to the client prior to trial.

White-Collar Litigation & Investigations:

  • Represented a former executive and director in criminal wire fraud and money laundering investigation.
  • Represented a global biotechnology company in investigation of former employee’s theft of trade secrets.
  • Represented a individual in criminal antitrust investigation.
  • Represented several global medical companies in False Claims Act qui tam actions brought in federal court.
  • Represented several global medical companies in False Claims Act investigations brought by the DOJ.
  • Represented a global medical products company in insider trading investigation brought by the SEC.
  • Represented multiple global pharmaceutical manufacturers in cross-border investigations into clinical trial-related conduct.

Pro Bono:

  • Member of the Special Master team at Ropes & Gray appointed by the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts in March 2020 to oversee inmate confinement conditions and early release opportunities during the COVID-19 crisis.
