Associate Providence

Mackenzie McBurney is an Associate in the firm’s Litigation group. Prior to joining the firm, Mackenzie served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Lara E. Montecalvo at the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, as well as the Honorable Erin Lynch Prata and the Honorable Maureen McKenna Goldberg at the Rhode Island Supreme Court. Mackenzie also clerked for the Business Calendar at the Superior Court for the Honorable Brian P. Stern. Throughout her clerkships, Mackenzie worked on complex litigation matters, including zoning appeals, contract and employer disputes, and negligence standards.

Additionally, Mackenzie brings experience with commercial real estate matters, such as preparing leases, drafting purchase and sale agreements, providing counsel for shareholder derivative suits and real estate disputes, challenging commercial real estate tax bills, as well as breach of contract and fiduciary duty claims.

Mackenzie earned a B.A. in Politics and Communication from Fairfield University, and a J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude.
