Robin L. Main, Providence “Lawyer of the Year” for Environmental Law 2015

Best Lawyers: What interested and led you to go into law as a profession in general and environmental law specifically?

Robin L. Main: I enjoy analyzing issues, trying to help resolve problems—and I enjoy arguing—so I went to law school. I went to Tulane Law School, which in the mid-to late 1980s was one of the few law schools with a robust environmental law program. I took a few environmental law courses and got hooked. I was then fortunate to get a job right out of law school at Hinckley Allen in its environmental law group—Hinckley was ahead of the curve then with having a significant practice in environmental law. Now, we have a great team of experienced lawyers in its environmental, green law and energy groups.
