Hinckley Allen is seeking a litigation associate with 2-4 years of experience to work in our Hartford office. The ideal candidate will have experience in sophisticated litigation practice focused in Connecticut – construction litigation is a plus. ​Practical experience in construction and/or engineering is desirable. Admission to CT bar required.

​The position offers an excellent opportunity to assume significant responsibility and hands-on experience in a collaborative, sophisticated and team-oriented work environment. Hinckley Allen is seeking a mid-level associate to join our team of attorneys representing construction clients in all facets of their businesses – from bid protests, claim preparation and presentation, and negotiations, to mediations, litigation, and appeals. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, and preparing for arbitrations, mediations, and trials. The candidate should also have experience with e-discovery. Experience litigating various types of construction disputes, including delay and disruption claims, payment disputes, and breach of contract claims, is a plus. Admission to the Florida Bar required.

Hinckley Allen is looking for a junior Corporate Associate with an interest in joining a dynamic and sophisticated corporate and business law practice. The ideal candidate will have practiced at least two (2) years in the area of corporate and business law with experience handling a variety of corporate and financial transactions and issues, including corporate acquisitions, sales, mergers, corporate restructurings, contracts, and corporate governance matters. Private equity experience is a plus. Admission to Massachusetts, Connecticut or Rhode Island bar is required (or must be obtained within 6-12 months).

Salary Range: $140,000 – $195,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on office location, as well as education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.

Hinckley Allen is looking for a senior associate or counsel with an interest in joining a dynamic and sophisticated corporate and business law practice. The ideal candidate will have practiced at least seven (7) years and have experience in lower middle-market mergers and acquisitions, including letter of intent negotiation, purchase agreement drafting, due diligence coordination, and post-closing integration matters. A working knowledge of high-level M&A tax concepts and tax-efficient deal design is preferred. The candidate should also have experience in corporate advisory work, including governance, commercial lending, debt financings, capital raises, employment, and ongoing counsel to founder-led and owner-operated businesses. Candidates must possess a J.D. from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of the bar.

Candidates must possess superior analytical and problem-solving skills and judgment, must excel in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment, and must be highly motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate should also have the ability to manage small to mid-sized matters or portions of large, complex matters independently.  Experience working with generative AI platforms (e.g., Harvey, Claude, etc.) is preferred.

Hinckley Allen is seeking a land use attorney to join a dynamic and sophisticated practice in Manchester, New Hampshire. The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of experience with land use and development, zoning, permitting, and public approval processes in New Hampshire and neighboring states. Associates, counsel, and partner candidates are encouraged to apply. Admission to New Hampshire bar is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on land use and zoning issues, ensuring compliance with New Hampshire state and local regulations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including zoning applications, development agreements, and land use permits in accordance with New Hampshire law.
  • Represent clients in hearings and proceedings before zoning boards, planning commissions, and other governmental agencies within New Hampshire.
  • Conduct research on land use laws, zoning regulations, and case law pertinent to New Hampshire to provide informed legal opinions.
  • Collaborate with clients, urban planners, and other stakeholders to facilitate development projects and resolve zoning disputes.
  • Negotiate terms of land use agreements and easements with opposing parties.
