Hinckley Allen is proud to announce that partners Kathleen M. Mahan and David J. Rubin have been named to Forbes’ inaugural 2025 America’s Best-In-State Lawyers list, which recognizes legal excellence, industry leadership, and client impact.
Kate was recognized in the Litigation category for the State of New Hampshire — the only attorney recognized in this category statewide. Furthermore, she is one of three attorneys honored in the Manchester area and one of just six across the entire state. Kate is the immediate past president of the New Hampshire Bar Association and recently presented at the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association’s 2025 Leadership Summit.
“I am honored to be recognized in the litigation category by Forbes in its Best-in-State lawyers list,” says Kate. “Being named among the top lawyers in the state, alongside my peers, is both humbling and deeply meaningful. Litigation often involves high stakes and complex dynamics, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help clients navigate those challenges with strategy, dedication, and care.”
David was recognized in the Real Estate Law category for the State of Rhode Island. He is one of six attorneys named in Rhode Island and one of two recognized in Real Estate Law. David brings decades of experience advising developers, institutions, and corporations on high-profile transactions throughout the region.
“Real estate law is about helping shape the physical and economic fabric of our communities, and I am honored to be recognized by Forbes. This honor speaks to the dedication of our entire team and the relationships we’ve built over decades. In today’s environment, where the legal and business landscapes are constantly shifting, clients need advisors who bring not just legal knowledge but foresight and creativity,” said David.
The list was compiled through a rigorous, multi-stage process involving outside nominations, independent research, interviews with industry insiders, and consultation with an advisory board of legal experts. Thousands of attorneys were evaluated across all 50 states, and only a select group was honored. The result is, according to Forbes, “an elite cohort of lawyers… who stand out not only for legal excellence but for their ability to deliver tailored, contextual advice and steer clients through complex terrain.”
