Christine E. Dieter Named Chair of Environmental Business Council’s Rhode Island Chapter


Hinckley Allen Partner to Lead EBC’s Efforts Advancing Environmental and Energy Initiatives and Discourse in Rhode Island

Hinckley Allen is proud to announce that Christine E. Dieter, Partner in the firm’s Litigation group, has been named Chair of the Rhode Island Chapter of the Environmental Business Council of New England (EBC). A recognized leader in environmental and energy law, Christine brings deep industry insight to this new role.

Christine has worked on some of the region’s most complex renewable energy projects, including permitting for the offshore wind projects South Fork Wind, Revolution Wind, and Sunrise Wind. She regularly represents developers, utilities, and businesses across New England in regulatory compliance, permitting, zoning, and litigation matters involving energy infrastructure, land use, and environmental regulations. She has been a member of EBC since 2020 and was named Vice Chair in 2023.

“I am honored to step into this leadership role with EBC and support the important work the organization does to foster dialogue and progress in environmental policy and business,” said Christine. “The challenges and opportunities in the energy and environmental sectors have never been more urgent, and I look forward to working with industry and government leaders across Rhode Island to drive innovative and sustainable solutions.”

Currently, she advises clients on solar, wind, and battery storage initiatives, handling proceedings before state and municipal agencies and advocating before courts in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Her experience also includes navigating complex federal and state environmental laws related to wetlands, water, air, and site remediation. Christine’s practice spans every stage of the litigation process and includes a wide array of corporate and property disputes.

The EBC Rhode Island Chapter brings together professionals from across the environmental and energy sectors to stay on top of the latest issues shaping the state. From new legislation and regulatory updates to major project wins and how they came together, the chapter creates a space for sharing insights and learning from one another.
