Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Names Hinckley Allen Partner Alexandra Gordon Briggs as a 2025 Up & Coming Lawyer


Hinckley Allen is pleased to announce that Alexandra Gordon Briggs, partner in the Construction & Public Contracts Group, has been recognized as an Up & Coming Lawyer in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Excellence in the Law awards. This prestigious honor highlights her exceptional legal skills, dynamic approach to construction issues, and dedication to client service.

As a highly accomplished partner and litigator, Alexandra attributes her success to her ability to thrive in dynamic legal environments. When faced with challenges, she consistently demonstrates resilience and flexibility, embracing innovative strategies to achieve the best outcomes for her clients. Alexandra has built a distinguished career in construction litigation, successfully navigating trial and appellate proceedings, defending against allegations of bad faith and breach of contract, resolving disputes related to the Massachusetts Prompt Payment Act (PPA), and conducting False Claims Act (FCA) investigations. In addition to her legal practice, she is also an active speaker on dispute resolution, negotiation tactics, and claim advancement. Alexandra also leads a session on Law and Ethics aimed at young professionals in the construction industry.

Beyond her legal acumen, Alexandra is deeply passionate about health advocacy, inspiring her peers and colleagues to contribute their skills to meaningful causes. A dedicated member and strong advocate for the American Heart Association (AHA), Alexandra has been a driving force in the AHA’s “Lawyers Have Heart 5K” fundraiser. Since 2020, she has served in a variety of leadership roles and on executive committees.

In the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly profile, Alexandra discusses her career path, accomplishments, and advice for the next generation of lawyers. When asked what the most important thing she has learned since the start of her career practicing law, Alexandra says:

Knowing and understanding the law is great — and important — but if you understand your client’s business and the challenges to your client’s business, you can better serve your client and keep your client.
