Hinckley Allen Strengthens Construction Practice in Boston with Addition of Partner Dan Lever

Hinckley Allen announced that Daniel R. Lever has joined the firm as a partner in its Construction & Public Contracts Group. Based in Massachusetts and Florida, Dan brings experience advising international contractors and project teams on major infrastructure work, complex disputes, and the business decisions that arise throughout a project.

Dan’s arrival builds on Hinckley Allen’s expansion into Florida. In February 2024, the firm entered the market through its combination with a leading Florida construction and business law firm. The combination added seven attorneys and ten professionals and established Hinckley Allen’s Fort Lauderdale office, strengthening its construction practice and expanding its ability to serve clients in Florida.

“Dan understands the legal and commercial pressures our construction clients face, especially when projects involve multiple parties and jurisdictions,” said Joel D. Lewin, Partner and Co-Chair of the Construction & Public Contracts group. “His experience will add depth to our team in Florida and Massachusetts and help us serve clients whose work extends well beyond either market.”

Dan counsels contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, and other businesses on contract negotiations, claims management, and dispute resolution. He has served as project counsel on major international energy and infrastructure matters, including a $34 billion liquefied natural gas project and a $1 billion hydroelectric project. His litigation experience includes leading trials and handling high-value construction and commercial disputes.

“Hinckley Allen has built a construction practice with deep experience across the full life of a project,” said Dan. “I’m excited to bring my work with international contractors and complex projects to the team and help clients navigate challenges in Florida, Massachusetts and wherever their projects take them.”

Dan earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.S. from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Florida, and the District of Columbia.

Hinckley Allen’s Construction & Public Contracts Group ranked No. 15 nationally in Construction Executive’s 2026 Top 50 Construction Law Firms list, its sixth consecutive year on the list. The practice also earned construction rankings in Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, and New York in the Chambers USA 2026 Guide.

The addition is part of a broader period of growth across the firm. This summer, Hinckley Allen added 15 Trusts & Estates professionals in its Providence office, including seven attorneys. Recent additions include partners Ned Sackman in Business Litigation, Jason Casey in White Collar & Government Enforcement, counsel Linda J. Cohen in Health Care, counsel Christopher H. Suh in Trusts & Estates, and 13 new associates across all practice areas.
