Stephanie Siegmann, a Partner, Chair of the International Trade & National Security group, and Co-Chair of the Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection group, was quoted in a WIRED article regarding the acquittal of UK tech executive Mike Lynch in his US fraud trial after Lynch took to the witness stand to plead his case. As quoted in WIRED:
“Even though it’s a calculated risk, in some cases defendants have been able to convince jurors. The jury assesses the credibility of a witness—they determine whether he’s telling the truth. They [could] determine that he did not intend to defraud.”
