Hinckley Allen Attorneys Named 2016 “Rising Stars” by Super Lawyers


Super Lawyers recently selected the 2016 Rising Stars in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, recognizing 8 Hinckley Allen attorneys. Based on peer nominations and evaluations of attorneys, the annual Rising Star recognition places these Hinckley Allen associates and partners among the top 2.5 percent of attorneys practicing in their respective regions in 2016:

Rebecca F. Briggs practices in all areas of litigation with a concentration on complex commercial litigation, government investigations, and employment law litigation. She prosecutes and defends suits involving commercial contracts, non-competition covenants, trade secrets, torts, and securities disputes. In addition to litigation, Becca also counsels clients on employment issues including internal investigations, compliance with worker classification laws, and employee discipline.

Jennifer V. Doran focuses her practice on business law, with an emphasis on privately held businesses, commercial transactions, business succession planning, and creditors’ rights. She counsels clients on formation issues, mergers and acquisitions, contract preparation, distribution rights, licensing, and other commercial matters. She also counsels clients with respect to the structure of securitized loan transactions and prepares substantive non-consolidation opinions.

Ryan M. Gainor focuses his practice on business litigation and intellectual property litigation. Ryan has experience in all phases of complex litigation and litigates cases in both state and federal courts. Some of Ryan’s experience includes cases involving commercial contracts, trademarks, patents and trade secrets.

John A. Gallagher focuses his practice in the area of commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense, and government investigations. Jack has experience litigating cases in both state and federal courts as well as representing clients in matters involving government enforcement authorities. Jack also has extensive experience managing e-discovery projects and developing cost-effective solutions for clients.

Amy E. Markim practices in the areas of litigation and labor & employment law, representing companies of all sizes in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. Her litigation practice is varied, ranging across complex commercial disputes, media law, probate litigation, and personal injury defense. Amy’s labor and employment practice includes the defense of employers against claims of discrimination and wrongful termination, as well as the counseling and training of employers and supervisors with respect to anti-discrimination best practices.

James J. Nagelberg James’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense. He has experience advocating for individuals and companies in matters such as dispositive motions, discovery, proffers, trial preparation, and sentencing. James also has experience working with municipal agencies and companies on internal investigations and advising on compliance and regulatory issues.

Adam M. Ramos’ practice focuses on energy-related matters and complex business and commercial litigation. Adam’s energy-related practice includes representation of: (1) regional utilities in proceedings before state regulatory agencies, appeals of those decisions and in civil litigation matters, and (2) owners and developers of energy generation projects in proceedings before state regulatory agencies and to provide regulatory advice regarding transactions and project development.

Michael J. Tentindo focuses his practice on business law, with an emphasis in the areas of bankruptcy, business aviation, corporate finance, corporate trust, commercial lending, mergers and acquisitions, and securities. He also represents companies in general corporate matters and assists in transactional matters for corporate trustees, trustees in municipal finance transactions, and for lenders and borrowers in senior and subordinated debt transactions.
