Beware of Upcoming Significant New Reporting Obligations for Federal Contractors under the “Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces” Executive Order


As you may be aware, on July 31, 2014, President Obama signed an Executive Order that will likely have significant implications for federal government contractors.  Once the Order takes effect, most federal contractors on contracts above $500,000 will be required to self-disclose violations of labor and employment laws occurring within the previous three years, and update such reports every six months going forward.  Furthermore, this requirement will extend to certain subcontractors, meaning that affected prime contractors will be required to report such violations on behalf of those subcontractors.
