Hinckley Allen Recognized for Elevating Women in Leadership

The Diversity & Flexibility Alliance recognized Hinckley Allen as one of 57 firms in the U.S. that is “Tipping the Scales” towards gender parity in its New Partner Report. In 2022, over 50% of new partners at the firm were women, which outpaced the standard across 206 major U.S. law firms.

Increasing gender parity and elevating women to leadership roles is a critical part of the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. To achieve these goals, the firm supports its women attorneys in a myriad of ways including the Women’s Forum, a unique program that was designed by women attorneys for women attorneys and provides a platform for the firm’s women lawyers to build professional and personal relationships and foster their success.

The firm is also working toward Mansfield Rule Certification which will be completed in early 2023. The Mansfield Rule Certification requires law firms to consider at least 30% historically underrepresented lawyers, including women lawyers, when promoting or appointing to leadership roles, among a dozen other actions that focus on the path to leadership.

Hinckley Allen has been also recognized for its commitment to women attorneys in a national survey conducted by the BTI Consulting Group as a law firm where women associates have the best opportunity to grow within their firm.

The Diversity and Flexibility Alliance is a think tank that collaborates with organizations to develop non-stigmatized flexible work policies that promote inclusive work cultures and help to advance more women into leadership positions.
