Laura Baker is a litigator resolving complex construction law disputes. She represents all members of the diverse construction industry, including general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, owners, and developers. Clients rely on her informed and practical advice surrounding breach of contract claims, delay claims, construction defects, construction lien claims, and payment and performance bond claims. The foundation for Laura’s versatile practice stems from handling complex commercial and construction litigation disputes in arbitration, state and federal trial courts, and appellate courts.

Known for strategic, analytical thinking and with nearly 20 years of experience in construction law, Laura is one of the few female Board Certified Construction Lawyers in Florida. Before joining Hinckley Allen as counsel in the Construction & Public Contracts Practice Group, Laura practiced with prominent construction and commercial litigation law firms in Florida.

  • Representation of surety in defense of alleged multi-million dollar subdivision bond claim at trial and on appeal.
  • Obtained appellate court reversal of order concerning venue on a lien transfer bond claim.
  • Representation and resolution, on behalf of waste hauler, involving municipality compliance with notice procedures in Chapter 403, Florida Statutes.
  • Representation of owner in obtaining order vacating $200K+ construction lien in pretrial proceedings.
  • Litigation of claims and defense representing contractor in federal court involving multi-million dollar claims on public works project.
  • Multiparty litigation matter representing engineering design firm in defense of alleged design related claims at trial and on appeal.
