Hinckley Allen Partner Jennifer V. Doran Named a 2025 Top Women of Law Honoree by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly

Hinckley Allen is proud to announce that Partner Jennifer V. Doran has been recognized as a Top Women of Law honoree by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. This prestigious award celebrates exceptional women lawyers who are pioneers, educators, trailblazers, and role models in their careers.

For over two decades, Jen has built an extraordinary practice focused on advising closely held and family owned businesses, particularly in the construction and distribution industries. She is a trusted strategic advisor in navigating complex issues, including intergenerational planning, corporate growth, succession, and insolvency.

At Hinckley Allen, Jen serves on the Executive Committee, providing strategic oversight and helping to shape the firm’s direction. An outstanding leader, she leads high-functioning teams as co-chair of the Privately Held & Family Owned Business Group and chair of the Bankruptcy, Creditors’ Rights & Workout and Corporate Matters, Governance & Strategic Planning for Construction Businesses Groups—all while maintaining a dynamic and sophisticated legal practice.

Beyond her legal practice, Jen is deeply committed to civic and charitable engagement. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Boston YMCA’s Education and Training Branch, has co-chaired the MCLE New England Bankruptcy Law Conference since 2016, and previously served as a member of Johns Hopkins University’s Second Decade Society and as co-chair of the New England Network of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation.

A dedicated advocate for the advancement of women in the legal profession, Jen has also played a leading role as the firm’s initial leader and current member of the Women’s Forum. She has consistently championed the recruitment, retention, and elevation of women attorneys, sharing her expertise on panels such as “Speak Up! Ways to Crack the Glass Ceiling” and “Rising Through the Ranks in a Male-Dominated Industry.”

“I am deeply committed to supporting and advancing women in the legal profession,” says Jen. “Through my work as an early leader of our Women’s Forum and as an active member, I’ve helped foster an environment where women can share experiences, mentor one another, and build the confidence to pursue leadership roles.”

Jen has been honored by Best Lawyers, Boston Magazine, Super Lawyers, and Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. Her distinction as a 2025 Top Women of Law honoree underscores not only the depth of her legal knowledge and leadership but also the passion, generosity, and authenticity she brings to her work, her clients, and her community.

Jen will be honored at the annual awards ceremony on November 18 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, MA.
