Hinckley Allen Elevates Partners Brian E. Tierney and Libbie Howley O’Keeffe to Key Leadership Roles


Hinckley Allen is pleased to announce the elevation of Partners Brian E. Tierney and Libbie Howley O’Keeffe to leadership roles within the Corporate & Business Transactions Practice. Brian E. Tierney has been named the vice chair of the Corporate & Business Transactions Practice and Libbie Howley O’Keeffe has been named the vice chair of the Privately Held and Family Owned Business Practice.

With almost two decades of experience, Brian has built a practice representing a broad range of companies throughout the corporate life cycle, with a focus on New England’s life sciences and tech communities. He also acts as a legal advisor to institutional lenders, investment bankers, underwriters, and borrowers in senior, mezzanine, subordinated debt, and tax-exempt financings. Brian was recognized by Best Lawyers® 2023 and 2024 editions for his exemplary work in Banking and Finance Law. He earned his J.D. from the University of Hawaii, William S. Richardson School of Law, and his B.S. from the University of Rhode Island. Brian will share responsibility for overseeing the Corporate & Business Transactions practice with partners and current co-chairs Thomas S. Marrion and Andrew S. Rogovin. Brian also serves as vice chair of the Sports & Entertainment Practice.

Libbie’s diverse practice is centered on business and finance transactions, and she specializes in representing privately held and family-owned businesses. She counsels clients in business and succession planning, including ESOPs, lending and financing matters, and corporate and regulatory compliance issues. Libbie has been recognized as One to Watch in Corporate Law by Best Lawyers® 2022-2024, as a Super Lawyer Rising Star in Massachusetts from 2020-2023, and as a Top Lawyer in Corporate Law by Boston Magazine in 2023. She earned her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and her B.A. from Colby College. Additionally, she also completed the Women’s Leadership Program hosted by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. Libbie will join partners and current co-chairs Jennifer V. Doran and Jeremy M. Smith in overseeing the Privately Held and Family Owned Business Practice.
