Libbie Howley O’Keeffe Named a Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Go To Lawyer for Business Transactions

Hinckley Allen Partner Libbie Howley O’Keeffe has been named a 2026 Go To Lawyer for Business Transactions by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, recognizing her leadership and deep experience advising closely held and family-owned businesses on complex corporate and finance matters.

Libbie’s practice focuses on sophisticated business and finance transactions for privately held and family-owned companies. She advises founders, owners, and executive teams throughout the business lifecycle, including growth planning, succession and exit strategies, mergers and acquisitions, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), and commercial lending and financing. She also serves as vice chair of the firm’s Privately Held & Family Owned Businesses Practice.

Libbie also regularly represents clients in strategic sales to private equity sponsors and strategic buyers, internal succession plans involving family members or management teams, and joint ventures and financings that support growth without a full change of control. She is known for pairing technical transactional skills with practical, client-centered judgment and a deep understanding of the human realities behind business decisions—especially in matters involving family dynamics, legacy planning, and long-term personal goals.

“Working with founders, business owners, families, and leadership teams through pivotal business moments is incredibly meaningful to me,” said Libbie. “This recognition underscores the importance of thoughtful, practical counsel that aligns legal strategy with the long-term goals and values of the people behind the business.”
